Our Story

Since October 7, 2023, a quiet crisis has been unfolding inside secular nonprofits. Jewish professionals, from CEOs to entry-level staff, are facing unprecedented workplace challenges simply because they are Jewish.

Guiding Values, Lasting Impact

For decades, Jews have been leaders and partners in civil society, championing causes from civil rights to climate justice.

Though just 2.4% of the U.S. population, Jews make up nearly 5% of the nonprofit workforce. That’s over half a million people. If they leave the sector, we lose not only their talent but also their moral and civic leadership.

We know that antisemitism, like other forms of hate, feeds on societal divisions, instability, and the erosion of shared democratic values.

It is more important than ever that we meet concerns around antisemitism not with division or destruction, but with courage and a commitment to growth.

Blue Compass exists to empower, support, and enable Jewish professionals to continue their work with strength, safety, and solidarity.  With thoughtful investment and shared commitment, the nonprofit sector can continue to be a place where purpose-driven professionals grow, lead, and make a lasting impact.
